Hi,

Considering cheeks fillers to reduce jowls and nasal folds, but am so scared I won't look like me.

Has anyone had fillers for this reason and if so, would you mind posting a pic?

TIA

Place marking as I'm planning on getting this soon. Also I'd like a liquid brow lift.

Watching with interest. Has anyone had a neck treatment?

I'm watching too,
Always wanted this doing and really thinking about it after lockdown

I had cheek fillers for nasal folds. The doctor was pleased with the result, I didn't see much difference. At least it wasn't expensive.

I had this a couple of years ago. It gave a slight lift but not much. It did make my cheeks look better though and improved the look of my skin too.
The only thing that really lifted the folds and jowls were PDO threads, but they are obviously much more expensive and invasive than filler.
I had then age 50 too, if you're younger/less saggy the filler may do the job.

Oh, and it needs to be strong thick filler injected very close to the bone with a cannula for decent lifting.

I’ve had fillers. They were very natural so there wasn’t a huge difference. But I looked less tired and the lines down from the sides of my mouth were less pronounced , as were my jowls. I had them repeated the next year but havent had them done for a while because of lockdown. It will be the thing I book just after my hair appt

Not fillers but there is an amazing thread about a poster who had a mini facelift. She posted pics. The difference was incredible and enough to make me think I’d have one when the time came.

@Fembot123, well...yes, but they'll be mostly promo.

@5128gap, I'm 36 and it's not too noticeable, although seems to have kicked in over the past year or so. Subtle should be enough.

@Milomonster, yes, I saw that! Amazing results!

I had cheek fillers due to fat loss in my face after losing 8 stone. It’s ok, my dr was quite reserved in filling, I only had 1 vial for both cheeks, but one was a lot more sunken than the other, so one cheek has more filler in. It was a little hard and lumpy for a few days after on one side, but that subsided. I do still have hollowish cheeks, but it is improved and I didn’t want to run the risk of ‘pillow face’. I probably won’t get them redone when they dissolve though.

I saw someone have this procedure on one of those ten years younger shows and it was really effective.

Folds were my main concern, this is just before and a couple of days after. A decent practitioner will not make you look unrecognisable - I looked the same, just more fresh and less saggy. Different lighting on photos but no make up or filter.

I can really see the difference Katharina did you have something in the mid face too?

@KatharinaRosalie
If you don't mind telling, how much did you pay? You look great

I had 5ml put in, she did temples, cheeks and folds. I paid 1200 EUR but had it done abroad so that's probably not hugely helpful.

That looks really good Katharina - really subtle - I’m tempted!

How do you go about finding a good practitioner though? It could go so horribly wrong couldn’t it!

Oh I just posted on the lower face lift thread about getting cheek fillers (to scaffold face to lessen jowls). I paid £350 for 2 vials (2ml) at my dentist in London. It's given me higher cheekbones plus the under eye wrinkles are much less pronounced. Like Katerina I had more one side than the other - by the end she was putting in 0.1ml at a time to make it even.

I'm really happy with the result. Before and after below. (No make up, no filter) The after is me this morning with my morning retinol on so all greasy looking Grin

@KatharinaRosalie, that looks great. Subtle, but a definite difference.

@LaurieFairyCake, maybe it's just the photo, but I can't really see where the issue was in your before....

Was it just on the cheek bone? I can definitely see the difference.

Yes, just along the cheekbone - lifts the skin lower down
