Bright red puffer jacket. Would you?

Just that really. I can't decide whether it's a bad idea. Would it go with anything? I'm 42. Am I a bit too old? I like the lululemon wunderpuff or the aritzia super puff. Thoughts?

Never to old!
The red of the aritzia is beautiful and vibrant so yes I think you should go for it. As I’ve got older I have started wearing more and more bright colour and I love it. It’s fun and uplifting.

My grandmother always wears red coats and it brightens her! Looks amazing

I saw someone in one last year and was tempted but didn’t think it would work with my clothes but yes they’re lovely.

Absolutely. Lift your mood.

Literallynoidea Fri 30-Oct-20 08:46:10

Just googled the aritzia - I LOVE IT

Depends if you can carry it off or not, I’d look and feel like a big red tomato, but everyone is different.

Jayneisagirlsname Fri 30-Oct-20 08:52:15

Absolutely wear it! I have a bright yellow puffer and it makes me happy 😊

OP, Don you know this poem? As I get older, I agree with her more and more. Never too old for bright colours!

Warning - Jenny Joseph

When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn’t go, and doesn’t suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we’ve no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I’m tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick flowers in other people’s gardens
And learn to spit.

You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat
And eat three pounds of sausages at a go
Or only bread and pickle for a week
And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes.

But now we must have clothes that keep us dry
And pay our rent and not swear in the street
And set a good example for the children.
We must have friends to dinner and read the papers.

But maybe I ought to practise a little now?

I think colour becomes more necessary and becoming as one ages.

And if ever there were a year for a lovely spot of colour it’s this one.

I love the super puff one in catalina - the bright red. Prefer the shape too,

MissMarplesHandbag Fri 30-Oct-20 11:08:36

Thanks all. It's my birthday soon. I might just treat myself. I'm worried it won't go with much but I guess I have a black coat anyway so I could always wear that on he says when the red wouldn't work
