Where to buy colourful/fun clothes for boys (age 7)

Up to now most clothes for my son have been hand me downs or from supermarkets but my boy has grown again and needs new stuff and Im trying to avoid going out as much as possible, so looking online. I looked at Next but everything in his size seems to be grey or navy, and he loves bright colours, pictures and patterns.

I ventured onto the Boden website, which has some lovely things, but a bit out of my price bracket for a whole new set of clothes.

Any other suggestions for boys age 7?

I really like H&M for boys clothes

DS is mostly Boden- if you buy something they will soon start sending vouchers.
We also like Fatface and from the US (when we could go Sad) Osh Kosh Bgosh/ Carter’s/ Gymboree.

I like H&M although my boy is now in their menswear. Gap often have reds and oranges for boys. I also used to buy from Vertbaudet when DS was small as I hated everything being brown/green/navy

Long-term: I try to buy things in the sales for brands like Tiny Cottons, some Bobo Choses, etc. They're good quality, nearly always in lovely rich colours, and resell quite well.

Short-term: GAP, H&M... Next Aldo seems to still cater to “bright and fun!” as well as mini-roadmen. You do have to spend more time looking/checking with these high-st shops though, whereas with the former designer brands it’s more about ££.

Mini rodini, Arket, a happy brand, bobo choses, fresh dinosaurs

I find Scandi and Spanish brands tend to be best for colour

Lindex is great. Often has 3 for 2 and % off. Seems to wear well... at least the babies stuff does

Gosh yes, they hit 6/7 and it’s suddenly all sludge green, grey, black, or navy. I have a colour seeking boy!

I’ve bought some things from Kite recently - they had a half price everything sale (I think they do twice a year).

H&M does brightly coloured chinos which are popular with him.

I’ve bought a few things in the Fat Face sale too.

Zara has lovely children's clothes. And John Lewis don't tend to be too dull. I feel your pain though. I have a boy and a girl and there's definitely a much wider colour palette for girls.

Frugi is fab (only in the sales though!) Little green radicals also have some lovely stuff (I think they stop at age 7-8)

Boden kids clothes do last and last. If we buy new then we sell / pass on, or otherwise we buy second hand as it’s pretty indestructible :) You could try the clearance section here: www.boden.co.uk/en-gb/clearance/boys-clothing or use code C7H7 for 15% off the new season range

M and M Direct especially the DFND range for boys! I shop on there for my 8 and 13 year olds. Lovely bright colourful tshirts that are soft and launder well.

Boden and Frugi have mind blowing sales!

I got £350 worth of kids Boden clothing for £120 and its lasted ages.

Joules also have brilliant sales.

I used to buy lots from Boden for my three and as other posters said the sales are great, but the quality seems to have slipped badly since I first started shopping there. I recently had a look at John Lewis online and liked the fact that there were lots of different brands to try, including their own.

Thanks all, i ordered a few things on Vertbaudet last night and took him in to H&M today and picked up a fab load of gear for £55. He's very happy with his reverse sequin shark top and super soft zip up hoodie.
