Could this be early labour?

35+2 here with second baby. For the last week or so I’ve been having period like cramps and also non painful braxton hicks.
Tonight I’ve noticed that I’ve been having sort of sharp achey pains that are shooting down from groin to thighs if that makes sense and more period cramps. Nothing regular though. And also just laid down in bed and I have a consistent lower back pain going on. Did feel my cervix a few days ago just out of interest and it was quite high but I could reach it and it was very very soft.
Would have a bath but toddler is whinging and refusing to go to bed Sad

Just to add my first baby wasn’t early, she was born at 41+4 so premature birth isn’t a consistent thing for me!

Panicking as I still have stuff to put in my hospital bag, I’ve changed my mind on baby’s first outfit and I still need to buy something to give birth in and wear in/after labour!

Call your maternity assessment unif and speak to someone. If you're not in labour you need to put your mind at ease and if you are you'll need to go in.

Please do not put it off until morning.

I think this is in the wrong section- ask Mumsnet to move?

Any updates op? Call the hospital. Don't worry about stuff for the bag that can be sorted by someone else!

Glad everything is okay. Perhaps today would be a good day to get that hospital bag sorted.
