Anyone bought from Popsy?

What are their sizes like?

I'm very much 'between sizes'. Currently a 16 in Next and Dorothy Perkins, 18 in New Look and 20 in Primark. I tend to need a bigger size on my bottom half and don't like things to be too clingy, especially around my stomach.

What size would I need from Popsy? Are they good with returns if I need to swap?

I love the look of these dresses - I just wish they weren't made of polyester!

I find them very true to size. I got a 12 and fitted perfectly. I love them, alway get asked where I got it from and they are so comfy with pockets too!! I love a pocket!

True to size I'd say, in your case an 18.
I wish they weren't polyester either but I do like them for being well cut and having pockets.

@Bottomplasters what size are you in other shops if you don't mind me asking?

@fatted if it helps you I am a 12 top and 12/14 bottom and the 12 is great for me.

Too big in my opinion.
I’m a 12 or 14. I just ordered 2 dresses in 14 and they were too big and the quality was cheap.
Dont bother.

True to size for me. I had one of the Christmas print ones and wasn’t too impressed with the quality (which I don’t suppose matters when you’re only going to wear it for a fortnight or so a year!) but I’ve got a black jersey blouson style belted one (may have been called Olive, I think?) that I absolutely love.

They generally advise that if you're between sizes you should go for the smaller size, although I buy my usual size and find it fine.

If there's a particular dress you're after then you could ask in the Frocks and Friends Facebook group what the sizing is like.

Fairly true to size. I have Shirley and Amy which I wear a lot, Shirley is just a perfect fit on me

How are they on lumpy bits - do they skim, or accentuate?

I like the look of them but suspect the fabric is unflattering.

There are a few different types of material used - I'd guess the thicker ones are probably more flattering than the thinner ones.

They looked nice on the website and I joined a FB reselling page and it’s given me the impression the quality isn’t great with amount of Comments around bobbling etc on there. Also for some reason refer to dresses as ‘she/her’ etc as if they were a person which I find quite bizarre.

The way people are so attached to their Popsy dresses is so weird on that Facebook page

Too big for me when I ordered my usual size, the size smaller took a long time to arrive after returns too. They are comfy, I like the pockets and they are flattering but mine have pilled quite badly so I wouldn’t reorder from the price. I might buy again if they were on sale.

I found they ran big.

Also, the waists sit in a weirdly weird unflattering place, which I was sad about because I need pockets...

I ordered one, I sent it back because the waistline was too high (I am busty) and it wasn’t flattering on my shape.
I also didn’t like the feeling of the material. It was polyester.
But I do like the fact that they’re made in the UK and Have Pockets - so unusual nowadays.

If only they were cotton! I'd happily pay more.

I thought the waists looked like they sit oddly on some of the dresses on the models. Think I'll give it a miss for now.

I like where the waist sits but I think I have a particularly short torso...

The original dresses from a couple of years ago were great - tunics and shift dresses. I don't like the current A line bright patterned dresses with belts. I don't think it's a flattering style. However, it's a small company based in the Midlands and they do seem to want to expand and offer more variety of shapes / fit in the future.

Thank you for the advice. I may order and see how I get on. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with Snag tights after still looking like Nora Batty.

I do like the brightly coloured patterns. But then I am a just toddler at heart. I have dresses a similar style from Dorothy Perkins, but they're not quite so 'fun'.
