I hesitate to mention the 'C word, but the festive season is approaching and I'm determined not to leave present-buying until the last minute this year. [santa]

Among other things, I'm hoping to find DW some decent shoes, as she does a lot of walking to and from work (and already carries quite a bit - laptop, books etc), so she needs something comfortable and sensible enough for that but ideally also presentable enough to wear with office attire.

She prefers flat shoes and currently favours canvas shoes/trainers/pumps/plimsolls in the style of Converse, Vans etc, purely for their practicality. That said, she has tended to get cheaper off-brand versions which seem much more affordable (last pair cost a tenner!), but perhaps unsurprisingly she wears them out in no time. Therefore I'm thinking it's worth coughing up a bit more if we can be sure they'll last (we're down to one income at the moment so have to strike a balance really).

So my questions are - can anyone advise on which brands represent good value for money (happy to pay for quality, but not just for the sake of a fashion label), and are there any other styles I should look at which might fit the bill (flat, comfortable, durable)?

Thanks in advance!

Geox. They do have sales and might have Black Friday offers. I always buy from them with a discount as they are quite expensive. They are well made, stylish and have a wide variety of styles in leather and they do last.

Thanks @BubblesBuddy. I had a look in TK Maxx and they just happened to have a smart-looking pair of Geox in the right size for about £25, so I've got those stashed away now for the next month!

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction Smile
