Ideas for styling a satin midi skirt

I’ve bought an M&S satin midi skirt and I love it but just don’t know what to wear it with. Does anyone have any ideas please. I’m 5’3” and a size 12. Hopefully to wear to a party.

I'd wear with a sweatshirt or t-shirt and trainers but depends on what sort of party and your own style ie are you usually more dressy or casual.

Thanks. I generally only wear trainer# for the gym but it’s a good option for another time. The party we’ve been invited to is a bit dressier.

I'd have a big trying on session with tops and footwear I already own to see what works or doesn't.

I would go for a fluffy but fitted jumper (cropped if that would work with the skirt)

I have a hush satin midi skirt that I wear with a red satin vest with wide straps from warehouse and a widish belt, tights and ankle boots. All are from 2019. I am not sure if it is fashionable but the colour suits me and it accentuates my waist (I'm a short hour glass).

I'd wear with a cashmere or fluffy jumper and trainers - but I don't think that's helping on the party front!

Otherwise yes strappy sandals or heeled ankle boots maybe?

I wear mine with trainers and a tshirt or slouchy jumper as well. We are helpful aren't we!

To look a bit dressier ankleboots are probably your best bet on your feet, or court shoes/sandals if boots aren't dressy enough. On your top half I think you need a contrasting texture to the satin. Maybe a cotton shirt?

Ankle boots, or even slouchy knee length boots, 70s style. On top I'd probably wear a nice fine knit jumper If the occasion is a bit more formal, but really I'm also a t shirt and trainers girl like pps above! Maybe a tshirt with a bit of embellishment?

Thanks for all the ideas. I like the idea of a fine knit and ankle boots. I’ll have to have a fashion show in front of my very critical DC later.
