So, first MN Q here, eek:
I have a date day with DH soon. London based, visiting galleries and an indulgent lunch at a very nice restaurant (restaurant does not have dress code, well they do but their code is no code but guidance re what people usually wear which is ‘smart casual’).
I consider myself reasonably fashion conscious and I am a Londoner so think know London ‘low key’ style quite well. I am more than happy to push the limits with professional work attire and general weekend look. Everyone thinks I am super confident in this and throw things on each day. I’m often crippled with self doubt about outfits and spend far too long for a working mum faffing about ‘throwing together’ an outfit.
Essentially I want to wear an outfit that I’ve worn before for my day out: very simple but sleek top, very funky midi skirt and ‘cool’ white trainers. Wore this for an equally posh meal outside of London and in full knowledge that I stood out in that town. Loved it, felt like I rocked it. No one commented on trainers.
So why do I doubt myself for this upcoming lunch out? Should I be confident and wear the trainers? (I consider myself well groomed regarding hair makeup and accessories). Heals will ruin my day overall as ill be so uncomfortable.
Next (much shorter) question:
What do people think of Superga? Ive always stayed safe with Adidas. Converse look silly on me.
For me to be confident in this trainers need to be box fresh.
(P.s. I don’t think I’m as shallow as I sound here )
