Hush: stylish or dishcloth?

So I love Hush, I really do. But I bought the short leopard t-shirt dress (ivy I think?) and the long one to try in the sale and I honestly can’t decide if they are very cool and stylish or the kind of thing I wouldn’t look twice at in Primark. Partly it’s that the fabric looks like it would pill as soon as look at you, and partly it’s the semi-shapeless cut which could be very directional and arty or could be a bin bag with arms. Is it just me?

It’s ok. I’ve realised that if I’m even asking myself this question it needs to go back

No doubt about it the stuff looks great in the catalogue! But as I’m 5’8” it’s all too short for me. I have a nice dress from there that I wear as a tunic with black jeans. It’s lastest quite well, was t expensive though. I think quite a bit looks very expensive for what it is now. I liked the look of a jumper -one of those ones with a star on the front-and saw someone wearing it and it was very sheer. For a jumper? Odd.
But obviously plenty of people like the quality as it’s super popular on here.

I have a look at it when I go into my local John Lewis and always walk away empty handed. Their catalogue looks great but I just don't think the quality is there at all.

I've been so disappointed with the quality of Hush in some things. Will NEVER buy knitwear from them again as twice I've spent more than £80 on a jumper/cardigan and it has looked like a bobbly dishrag on its second outing. The T-shirts I've never tried but they don't impress me with their quality when I look at them on the hanger.

Arket, on the other hand, is really impressing me with the quality of their T-shirts so I'm planning to try them for knitwear come the autumn.

I agree Hush is awful. Agree with lurkingfromhome -

Have bought a few things and they are far superior than Hush

I like some and hate other things. However, I think their styling is excellent. So it's important (in my small world) to order and return so I still get the catalogues and then recreate myself from elsewhere.
I need to get out more ...

The prices have sky rocketed in the past few years and the quality hasn’t improved.

I love the boxy shirt dresses they do but the fit and sizing is all over the place. I’m an 8-10 in other places but I need a 12 in these dresses and they STILL gape at the bust buttons. I’m 5’7”, is by no means a giant and they are halfway up my thigh. I like them shortish but would prefer a smidge longer for decency’s sake on a windy day or when reaching up/bending down for something in the supermarket.

Same here.love their styling but the products are very hot and miss in terms of quality and - sheer fabrics. Wash badly - the dresses are all made for shorter people. I ve been so disappointed with my orders - (I cave regularly when I see it raves about here !)

In my experience, it's really hit and miss.

I've had t shirts from there which are only good for dish cloths after one wash. Their knitwear also loses shape over time.

However I find their jersey stuff to be really lovely indeed. I have the Ivy and Jenelle dresses and the wide jersey top. All wash and wear so well.

Their style also suits me; I'm an apple shape so can't wear anything tight around my tummy. I love the oversized look.

I've ordered a few things having seen how raved about they are and have been shocked by the cheap quality and oddly long cuts of the dresses (I'm 5ft7 so not short). Emperor's new clothes.

Do you have a picture?

I don't think being unsure is always a sign of needing to send it back. Just that its different from your usual style.

Emperor's new clothes, definitely. The few items I’ve bought from Hush looked OK at first but like a rag after a couple of (cool) washes and their vanity sizing is off the scale! No idea how they can justify what they charge and why so many people rave about them... it’s like they’ve drunk the kool-aid!

I think a lot of people (myself included, at first) fall for the very clever styling on the Hush website. The clothes don't look like that on us mere mortals.
