Style and beauty

I've become a frumpy mummy.

I feel so fed up with my style.

I don't even know where to begin with changing my wardrobe up given I don't have much cash to spare with a wedding on the way and a small baby!

I seem to live in jeans and t-shirts. How can I look good on a budget?

I have a couple of shirt dresses I can wear with tights or leggings but that's as exciting as I get. I want to be stylish!!

I'm 25, I'm on average a size 10-12 and I'm 5'4

I'm exactly the same. Hoping for some suggestions!

If on a budget I would start by listing a "capsule" wardrobe - you can find lots of suggestions online. I find I get into a slump when I have a bit of money to spend and impulse buy - I tend to buy things that are familiar and comfortable (stripy fucking t shirts!!!) so like things I already own and not things that fill gaps.

Example: a black lace blouse. I can wear it out for lunch, dinner, out for a drink - didn't even think of buying one until it went on my capsule wardrobe list. A striped blazer means I don't wear one of my many striped tops and can be a bit more experimental with colour and shape - like wearing a cami despite not loving my arms because i know I can keep the blazer on.

Then be strict about not buying something if it's not on your list! This is hard but it gets easier once you stop yourself once if twice.

Have a look at UseLess.dk - she's on Instagram as well as having a blog - for some ideas.

It takes effort to go out wearing something that is a bit out of your comfort zone but once people start noticing and complementing it gets easier!

What is your particular "rut" at the moment?
