Shoes for this dress for heel-hating, cloven-hoofed hobbit.

I've bought this dress for an upcoming do and now I need shoes. Am only wee so definitely need height but cannot function in mega high heels/open fronted sandals/anything strappy.

New Look Wide Fit has saved me on many occasions but can't see anything on there at the minute that I like.

Have pink hair and my style is quirky/vintage/80's so would like shoes to be fun and colourful rather than black. Planning to wear hair up and statement earrings. Would pink shoes work?

Budget ideally £30 max. Size 5 (sometimes 4 in wide fit).

Any help would be gratefully received!

I don't know about shoes, but I love that dress

I feel your pain. I, too, am a short, heel hating hobbit-foot. Have you looked as ASOS for shoes? I know they do wide fit but I haven't bought any yet. Like you I usually turn to New Look in a shoe emergency.

Thanks Toss but I probably should've said that I despise Irregular Choice/Ruby Shoo.

Have just found these which I love the colour of.

And these lighter pink ASOS ones. Thoughts?

Love dress shopping. Absolutely hate shoe shopping Sad.

I like both your pink choices but could you walk in them?

Pink they're both too low and the ankle straps would make my stumpy legs look even stumpier! Thank you though.

For a heel hater those two pink suggestions are pretty high!

I can just about manage a high heel if my foot is fully enclosed iyswim. Wouldn't be the most comfortable night of my life and would probably bring flip flops in my handbag but could manage Grin.

It's anything like this - high heel + strappy/open that I simply can't deal with.

How about a platform like these

rightknockered those are exactly the kinda thing I would usually go for (and have been told off for on MN before for being too clumpy 😂).

I do like them.....

I've been seeking out platform heels and wedges, think they're much more acceptable now fashion wise. Especially wedge heeled espadrilles

Irregular Choice or Ruby Shoo links should come with a warning.

Those Asos pink platforms are lovely.

The dress is gorgeous.
