Jumping on the bbh band wagon

Sorry. I'm stuck here with nothing to do so am bothering you guys.

I have straightish thick hair which tomorrow will be about chin length (currently have longer layers which need to go).

I know many MNers live their BBH. Will one help me smooth and polish my hair or is it too short and I'll look like a mushroom?
