Stuck between sizes

Hello,

I'm in a bit of a style rut and seem to be stuck in between a size 10 and 12. Size 10 is to small and size 12 seems to be baggy on me. I don't really have that much to lose and I eat loads so I think this is the size I'm meant to be.

Does anyone have any tips on how I could overcome this, is there different styles or fabrics that would help?

Thank you

Ime, every shop has a completely different idea of what a size 10 or
12 is etc, so just keep trying on. Sometimes I can buy a size 10 and size 16 in the same shop so sizes really aren’t regimented at all. Being a size 11 isn’t a problem

Yep I'm a size 11 in many brands too, especially trousers/dresses. Just have to get to know different shops/brands and know how their sizing comes up. Tried on a couple of pairs of trousers just today in fact, in Iris - both 38 (10), one pair enormous on waist but tight on thighs, the other could barely do up. Often high end designers and high st shops for youngsters (top shop etc) come up smaller, while Hobbs etc are huge!

Size up and find a good seamstress. I have difficulty finding clothes that fit (am an hourglass so things never fit at the waist) but my seamstress is my saviour!

I think it depends on the shop. I can be either a 6 or an 8 and have to try on both sizes pretty much everywhere.
To add to the fun, I also fall between a 3 and a 4 in shoes.

I am between a size 6 and 8, my thighs however are too big for jeans that fit my waist, sometimes can't even push my calves into skinny jeans.Sick of belting everything. That is if I can find a belt that fits and is comfortable to wear. And even if I do belt jeans up, I risk a very uncomfortable camel toe. My shoulders apparently are massive.
Have given up with shoes, wearing only boots and trainers.

Hey,

I'm the same at the moment, I usually wear bodycon fabrics as if I get a smaller size they stretch and bigger size 12 isn't that much of a different so it's slightly loose, but not to the extent that it looks daft.

I also tend to buy size 12 and then use belts (if it's a dress) to bring it in slightly.

Stretchy fabric has always helped me, H&M do brilliant jeans that are sized properly so if you wear jeans I can hunt mine out and get you the details on it.

I hope I've helped slightly, I'm exercising to get the last of the weight down, I'm a curvy girl so I'm always going to find size 10 snug around the breast and hip/bum area, but my stomach has some lose skin after losing 4 1/2 stone in a year.

If you try a few exercises that focus on the stomach, bum and leg area that might help bring a few more inches off (I'm sure you don't need to, but it might help when buying outfits etc)
