OK to wear slim trousers to a funeral?

Attending a funeral, youngish colleague on Friday. DD 15 has got black trousers and a warm black coat.
I've got a plain navy jersey dress but no sombre smart jacket.
I could do navy ankle length trousers and a warm sweater with a grey scarf. Looking at etiquette online it seems that dresses or skirts are more suitable.
I don't want to get it wrong, please could anyone help?

I’d say trousers, skirts whatever is fine as long as it’s not indecent. No one will be looking- you’ll be grand. Flowers

I've never worn a dress or skirt to a funeral. Trousers are absolutely fine.

I wore slim cut ( not skinny) trousers to my nans funeral earlier this year.
My DM didn't feel comfy in a skirt but didn't know if it would be disrespectful to wear trousers. But when she heard I was wearing trousers she decided she would too.

My Nan NEVER wore a skirt in the last 30 years. She would let have found it rude.

As long as you are decent l think funerals are less formal now.
I worried about what shoes my DC would wear. In the end no one even notices!
