Hair curler for preteen. Wand? Babyliss?

Can you help me- the market seems saturated with hair curlers. Currently I curl dd’s hair, and mine, with tong things. It’s fiddly and results aren’t amazing.

Thinking of getting her some that she and I can share. Something that she’ll be able to use herself before too long. She’s 11.

Pals daughter mentioned a Babyliss wand. Any specific recommendations or top tips?

Don’t want to spend more than I need to but equally don’t want it to be ‘ buy cheap, buy twice.’

She could have meant the Babyliss Pro Perfect Curl - I would use that if I was sharing with a kid. (I use it anyway but you know what I mean!) You just put a bit of hair in it and it curls it itself, so much less chance of her burning her hands than with a wand, I think? They're quite expensive though.

I have a curl secret and my daughters use it (supervised). Great results but long hair can get tangled.....better than burnt fingers or scalp maybe? Done both.

I paid the equivalent of £28 for mine so no big expense compared to a wand.

I’ve got a GHD wand which I like and is easy to use. Feel like I get more waves than curls from it though.

I’ve just ordered a set of bendy rollers for £5 on amazon though after seeing a friend use them over the weekend. She slept in them and her hair looked amazing the next day!

I have the babyliss curl pods and I love them they are so easy to use and really quick well worth the money.

I’ve never used a wand though my SIL has and her hair was lovely and it lasted all night on a night out I went with her.

Her hair is about shoulder length. Would really rather spend nearer £30 than £100 as this is just a wee extra; not something she has asked for...
