Another blog thread if you please, this time looking for ladies who blog about making their own clothes

There was a huge thread on S&B a while ago full of people who sew and make their own clothes...does anyone follow any sewing blogs?

Couture would be good but also 'fast and fabulous' too as I have 4 kids and no clothes (...well, not many clothes).

The blogger Dolly Clackett has an entire wardrobe she has made herself, she's also really approachable if you want advice.

House of Pinheiro is a mix of ‘high fashion’ and wearable

I don’t sew but I love Dolly Clacket’s blog. She does pretty much only make dresses though.

A lot of sewing bloggers focus too much on twee vintagey looks for my liking so I really appreciate the ones who go for more easy-wearing and contemporary looks.

Handmade by Carolyn is one of my faves

Also Sew DIY and What Katie Sews are pretty good too.

Did you make that?
Handmade Jane
This blog is not for you
Lisa Comfort - Sew Over It vlogs on YouTube
Clueless Leigh - blog & vlog
By gum, by golly

These all have a mixture of things sewn and styles :)

Thank you! I have checked these out on Instagram, they look good, I've found a few others too (off the back off these ones). I'll check them out and come back with some that could be good to follow in case anyone is interested.

A few more, in case you haven't already found them:

  • Diary of a Chain Stitcher
  • Basmati Handmade
  • Blogless Anna
  • Kestrel Makes

I've been following sewing blogs for years, and most of them have stopped (or significantly reduced) blogging in favour of instragram.

unicorn face for 'fast& fabulous' try the Sew Over It city break book. Pricy at £20 (bought mine at some point when discounted) but I'm in the middle of my third molly dress (super quick) and my billionth top from there. And have a look at The Foldline - really good bits there too.

I'll have a look at those too, thanks. I love Instagram, I guess there may well be less point in blogging if you can get seen on Instagram instead.

I'm having a look at the Sew over it book now. It looks of
a similar idea to this book (which is so much cheaper elsewhere) with a complete wardrobe in one book.

I use the Fold Line pattern reviews and also look at their blog, which has links to lots of sewing blogs. I find blogs better than instagram for reviews of patterns. Patternreview.com is the largest pattern review site but is a pain to sign up to.

Loads of blogs, and very useful reviews via the Pattern.Review.com
