I'm eyeing the Tumi Calais or Tumi Halle. Any feedback?

£300 for a nylon backpack with no hip belt and market stall metal trimmings?

Wow.

I have the Tumi Calais in black leather. It’s beautiful. Excellent quality (the leather, lining and zips) and well made. I think it’s a case of ‘you get what you pay for’.

That's the one I want! How long have you had it? Any signs of wear and tear?

Yeah, I agree, it seems overpriced. Maybe I should get the leather one.

It’s a fairly recent acquisition! I travel a fair bit and wanted a backpack that was practical but stylish/looked good!! It sits nicely and doesn’t fall over. So in answer to your question no signs of wear and tear to date. My DH uses a Tumi briefcase type bag ( can’t think of the exact name) for work and that has taken a lot of heavy use but still in excellent condition ..... it’s of the nylon variety. When it needs replacing he’s going to upgrade to the leather version.
