Can I lose a stone between now and the 30th?

Okay I know I can't but come on. I've had almost a year to lose a stone; at the time of booking my holiday I thought, piece of cake! Not only I haven't lost any weight, but in the last two weeks or so I have been sabotaging any attempts to lose by eating cake!! Why do I do this??

If you do Slimming World and really go for it with lots of SP days, you'd prob be able to lose half a stone or so? I've been moderately doing SW for the past 4 weeks and have lost a stone, so I'd vouch for it.

I totally get you re: self-sabotaging though! Good luck and enjoy your hol Flowers

Sorry, it's my tired brain which hasn't properly woken up yet! Aha, so we're actually talking a stone in a week? I reckon you'd be able to do 5lbs if you want to really go for it? I'd never have believed that until lately, when SW has opened my eyes to how I can finally tackle my own heaving bulk!

Runcible what's your typical menu any given day?

Low carbing will shift quite a few pounds if you do it properly.
It will be a shock to your system if you are eating cake currently.
I can shift 7lbs in a week.
I get a much flatter stomach as well.

No but change your target day to the 30th August and you could loose half that+ easy enough. I find the 3 day military diet/chemical diet (restrict calories) great for a quick fix (so you might easily loose a good few lbs). Also look into keto or low carb meals it's working brill for me.

Would you believe I have not eaten rice, potatoes, bread or pasta for nearly 3 months??

What I have achieved is not having my belly bloat to the point of looking like a full term pregnant woman. So that's fantastic.

However, no weight loss whatsoever.

I have not stopped drinking alcohol but I only drink socially, so no more than twice a week, and yes, sweets are my perdition, but I have also cut down.

Download my fitness pal app- be honest , fill it in properly and you will soon see what's causing the problem.

Keep count of your carbs aiming to stay under 20g of carbs.

You can crash a fair bit off - drastic though, requires willpower <a class="break-all" href="//www.amazon.co.uk/d/Books/8-Week-Blood-Sugar-Diet-reprogramme/1780722400?tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21" rel="nofollow noindex" target="_blank">//www.amazon.co.uk/d/Books/8-Week-Blood-Sugar-Diet-reprogramme/1780722400?tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21

I also need to lose a stone, but I've got until the 26th of August so a little more time. Need to cut out as much booze as possible (I have a hen do but can probably avoid it the rest of the time) and go for it on the exercise and fingers crossed I'll be ok. I'd lost about 10lbs this year but a crazy few weeks of work and I've put about 4lbs back on. Wishing I'd been more disciplined now!

Bloody Sugar Diet. 3 meals that only have 800 calories ( so no carbs or sugar). It's to prevent or reverse diabetes rather than get you in a bikini.

I lost stone and half in 3 weeks ( and have keep the stone off for a year). You can shift half a stone in a week and it was the only thing that got rid of my apple shape.

Soup soup and more soup. Cabbage soup diet is a good quick fix for a week.
No alcohol
30 day shred on you tube/ DVD

5 bite diet.
Eat whatever you like as long as only 5 bites for lunch and 5 bites for dinner, a bite is one swallow.
Take a good multi vitamin, you can drink zero cal drinks/water etc. You can have a coffee for breakfast. You are aiming for a fast between 6pm and 12 or 1pm. Lots of groups on FB etc. It's what post op stomach band patients have to eat apparently.
It works.

Oh. That is the most depressing thing I think I have ever read on here!

5 Bites?

Sounds so unsustainable and yes, depressing!

What have you been eating? Have you been exercising? How far off a normal BMI are you?

I agree, the five bite diet sounds ridiculous so don't bother with that. Slimming world is really good. I did it a few years ago and lost weight but (if you're a bit selective) it's all proper food and sustainable.

It's not supposed to be forever, but if you want a really quick way to lose quite a few pounds it works. You could modify it and do 8 bites.

Sorry but I don't think you can lose a stone in 2 weeks healthily. Half a stone would be achievable though?

5 bites eh? What if I have a really big mouth though? Grin

Google the military diet, it is relatively sensible and I did it for 3 days and lost 4 pounds.

I could do with loosing 3 stone and a protruding tummy before the end of August

InvisableLobstee · 24/07/2017 07:40

You could still drop a few lbs but maybe you would be better focusing on getting flattering outfits, doing your hair nicely, a bit of an extra tan and so on.
