Can I be arsed with fake tan?

I'm pale and I burn, never tan. I used to wear fake tan in the summer and have had the odd spray tan before but in recent years haven't bothered as it's just too much hassle.
I'm starting to think about it again. Nothing heavy, probably just a gradual tan for pale skin. My legs in particular do benefit from a bit of colour. But then I think about actually doing it and I start to think that pale and interesting is a better bet.
So is there a mystical, streak free, natural looking light tan that is easy to use and apply and I won't get bored of half way through doing or do I just continue with the uncooked sausage look I have embraced for about the last 7 years?!

I'm new to fake tanning but was sick of the milkbottle look!

Tried skinny tan mousse and had no streaking! Takes a few minutes to apply and has a guide colour so you can see where you have applied it you go to bed in it an wash it off in the morning.
It didn't stain my cream bed sheets either!

I felt exactly like you until st tropez brought out an IN SHOWER fake tan!!! You literally just smear it on wet skin, leave for 3mins then rinse off!!! No smelly orange bedsheets!!

It's gradual so I would say you have to use it 2/3 times to look sunkissed but after 1 application everything looks a bit healthier!!

St Tropez mousse is pretty good, apply with a mitt and you really don't have to worry about streaks. It's dark enough for one application and gives a lovely brown tan, not orangey. It also fades lovely too....just be sure to use an exfoliator on knees and elbows! The shower one is okay but, I get bored having to use it 3/4 times and that streaks if you aren't super careful!

Yes I use the in-shower St Trop one - it builds gradually. I cheat and put it on then an old dressing gown and I sit around for ten minutes to give a good old soak in before I shower it off!! (I don't like rules :-) ).

I still also like Fake Bake Original as you can kinda slop it on and it doesn't streak - it's a good way to get things going if you want to kickstart things. I think I'm going to do a Fake Bake v v shortly (and you have spurred me on OP!!) because I can't have me legs out at the minute and my feet were SO hot in leather boots today!

I HATE this season having to tan - endless exfoliating and brown scum around the bath, patchy bits where it's worn off and bits where it's sunk in despite extreme exfoliation and deep hardcore moisturisation!

St Trop in shower one comes in two shades as well which is good.

What with white legs and one toe that just this week decided to reveal to me that once again it had effing toenail fungus I have no idea what I'm going to do. I've had to file most of it off so I can spray my vinegar and blob drops of tea tea on it and know it's going in and I am loathe to put a fake nail over the top but I can't see how I can go into a new job in a week's time with that gnarly thing hanging out the end of my shoe. Why, why did it have to wait until now, right in Spring, to reappear again - I spent all last year battling the fungus!

I wish there was a Mystic Tan place near me - I swear I had the best spray tans from those than I have ever had from someone giving me a hand-done spray tan. If you know what you're doing you get a fabulous finish.

I know I'm in a minority but a) No, I can't be arsed and b) I don't buy into the idea that tanned - aka damaged - skin looks healthy. It reminds me of when they used to say smoking looked sophisticated.

I tried it once years ago. My friend and I did it before a posh summer do.
She went orange.
I stayed white with two massive orange streaks on my leg and the soles of our feet looked as though we'd tried to tread grapes with wotsits

No I don't. Pale and interesting all the way!

I use Clarins drops in my body moisturiser on my milk bottle legs. It's better than any other I've used. And I've tried everything.

I'm very pale, and lazy but love a tan to feel healthy. Bondi Sands - liquid gold it fab! Dry oil that you apply with a mit, no streaks and sets almost instantly. I apply in a morning, get dressed and go straight to work! Oh, it also doesn't smell of 'tan'.

There are loads of great fake tans out there. I bet you get 20 different reccomendations and they will all be great.

last summer I loved the Bondi Sands tanning mist (but it is messy). If you have a few days to build up a colour Garnier Summer Body gradual tan smells lovely and doesn't streak on me - I am very fair but use the deeper colour to get a quicker result.if you are in a rush L'Oreal self tanning dry mist is on the pricy side but easy to use and impossible to streak. My new favourite is the Vita Liberata 10 minute tan which came in this months QVC beauty box. It says to leave on for 10-20 minutes and then shower off, but I've been leaving it overnight and am currently admiring my beautiful golden legs and equally lovely clean sheets - no transfer at all.

Whatever you use, exfoliate first and I always moisturise my knees and feet thoroughly before applying so that the tan doesn't sink into those dry areas leaving them looking neon orange. And wash your hands afterwards.

I always look better with a tan and I won't get one naturally. There are loads of good fakes around.

There are certain clothes that just don't look right with my pale blue skin. I don't see it as a massive hassle: get the gloves on, stick a bit of moisturiser on elbows, knees and ankles, wipe over those areas with a cloth afterwards, go to bed, wake up tanned.

I can't be arsed with gradual tanner but have recently started using St Moritz mousse once a week or so and love it. I just bought a mitt which was a game changer, so quick and no streaks!

Another vote for the Clarins drops which you just add to your normal moisturiser: I've used the facial drops and the body ones and have been pleased with the results of both.
Easy to use, but you still have to blend and rub in evenly and thoroughly.

How do you do the shower one on your back etc? Is there some kind of glove?
