Static hair, help please.

Due to go out shortly and my hair is so static it got a life of its own! It's currently wrapping round my neck a change from earlier when it was sticking out everywhere!
Are there any tips to get rid of it?
I've not done anything differently, just washed, dried and straightened and no different products but my word it's a mess!

Rub a tumble dryer sheet (like Bounce) on it. My sister did this yesterday and it worked- sounds nuts but it does.

I dont have any 😩 Might need to send DH out for some! Google says a silk scarf but non of those either.
