Chic summer clothes, holiday and home

I am currently on holiday - it's hot and we are having a lovely time. However I am pretty much binning every single garment I have brought along with me this time. I have had the same holiday wardrobe for about a decade and have honestly only just noticed that it's crap - greying and shabby and bobbling and cheap stuff from Primark and H&M which was fine when I bought it (and all I could afford ten years ago) but has not worn well, nor is it supposed to! I have another holiday booked for August and have resolved to feel chic and sophisticated when I'm there which certainly means shopping and might mean saving for a few key pieces. Where is good for good quality summer wear, stuff that will look put-together and flattering for a woman in her (almost) forties who doesn't want to spend the holiday ironing (and with two feral DS is ruling out too much white)

I like dresses for this, or sleeveless linen tops and 7/8 trousers. Just got a lovely midi dress and linen top from gap, cheap with a discount code

I got some stuff recently in the Sainsbury's TU 25% off promo which I'll be bringing on holiday. They're really flattering on and look more expensive than they were.

And a black embroidered dress which is currently OOS online so can't link. Have attached pic.

Gingham dress might be too hot for a hol in August though.

This jersey jumpsuit is fab as well though it didn't fit me properly so going back

Also liked this jersey skirt. Would look good with a navy or red tshirt. Sainsbury's are selling a strappy vest 3 pack in navy, red and mustard all which would go perfectly. The skirt isn't really 'me' though so it's going back too.

All the dresses and skirt were a good length on me - not arse flashing but not too long to look frumpy.. First time I've really got clothes for myself from Sainsbury's and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of them.

Pinterest! The answer is Pinterest! If reading both the expensive thread and non expensive thread have taught me anything then it's everyone has such a different idea of style and how they want to look. So find some outfits you like, then post them here and we can direct you to the best shops. These is my dream summer styles.

No holiday plans here but I've bought (in preparation) a blue/white striped polo top dress (Tu Sainsburys) and a denim skirt (Tu)

I have blue and pink sandles
Blue Converse Lo Tops

I'm planning to base my Summer wardrobe round navy, white, pink, and work from there.

I really want chinos but I need to try them on before I buy them.

I love the strappy bra top vests (Uniqlo are good, M&S and I got a cami bra top from Costco recently) so I can forgo a bra but have support (I really am too old and saggy for bra-less)

I'm with it's a catastrophe, although I'm past the short shorts stage, I changed that to cropped jeans. Light coloured chinos, some nice wedge sandals, some silky tops and you're good to go.

I guess I do just need to get into Pinterest. Right.
