I'm not a regular poster in these parts, not a big clothes shopper really, but my lovely niece is getting married in August and I was hoping some of you expert fashionistas might be able to help me find a dress - or at least point me in the direction of shops I could try.

I'm 5'5", size 10 top 12 bottom, not keen on my legs from the knee up so nothing too short. I'm generally a jeans, converse and stripy top kind of person (boring in other words) and I'm not very girly so nothing too floral.

The wedding is at a marquee venue and quite relaxed, but will be pretty stylish as the bride works in design.

My budget isn't huge but will pay more for something that I can wear again.

Thanks in advance!

How much would you pay? I like LK Bennett for special occasions and they often do lovely midi dresses. There is a lot of light pink around at the moment and you cannot go wrong with this for a summer wedding. Also a floral Tea dress would be great. Pick out a colour for shoes and bag. Look at hats to contrast and straw can be great and stylish.

For the first time Royal Ascot is allowing jump suits into the Royal Enclosure. You could take a tip from them! Look for cream and navy (not black!) and team with cream accessories and you will look chic.

I am the same height and clothes size as you. I think this would be lovely (assuming there is a substantial discount code between now and August).

I really like the style and colour of the Boden dress - might be a possibility (with a substantial discount code, yes!)
Light pink would wash me out I think - also there's a bit of a Moroccan theme to the wedding so a stronger colour would be better.
