what style of trouser....?

I am 5' 5'', a little bit overweight, hourglass. I like flat shoes. Looking for a pair of neat trousers for spring/summer, for work, not too casual and not too tight. And not black or navy but that's by the by.

I really hate bootcuts. I like the idea of wide leg trousers but alas they make me look short and stubby.

[Anyway getting to the point] Would peg trousers suit me? Any other hourglasses out there with some advice?
