Style and beauty

I've done it again. I've bought another ugly skirt from Monsoon.

I get carried away when they're reduced. And I think "gosh, that's practical for work!"

So, it's stretchy t-shirt material, maxi, side splits to knee, straight, waste tie thing (like ornamental belt). And it's black, with a blueish, greenish floral design. Slightly Liberty, but not.

My question: is there any way to make this stylish? What should I wear it with?

I've tried to find a pic of it online but can't.

I'd say if you were strolling about in the sunshine wearing exactly what you're wearing in that photo you'd look fine. It's not really my taste but I was expecting a howler from your description!

I'd say it was only practical for work if you're a Thai fisherman. Grin

Arsey that made me chuckle .. are maxi skirts good for work ? I would have said only if black and worn with boots ? I don't work though so maybe not an expert 🤔

Lol. Am not a Thai fisherman. I'm a teacher in a very conservative country.

But forget work. Can i make it stylish? At all? In any way?

Oh dear Bracey. I've worn it now. Oh well.
And thank you. I was a size 16 a year an a half ago.

I think it's lovely and summery but not sure the split is suitable if you're meant to be conservative? Lovely for the beach though.

I like it. But not for work.

I also think it's fine, but not for work. It's your summer wardrobe.

I think it would be fine on holiday or on the beach. With a vest top. Really not sure how you could wear it to work though!

In the evening on holiday strolling the promenade with a cocktail. With wedge sandals.
But not for work.

There's not a thing to be done OP Sad

You need to now book a foreign holiday around the skirt, I think.

I'd wear it with a simple black strappy vest top and flip flops on your days off when it's hot.

Long tube skirts are really comfy when it's hot and you're just bumming about the house.

I ended up with permaknee in the last one I had from Monsoon! Not a good look when you stand up!

I'm in the Middle East, I see this type of skirt on many a female teacher. Maybe not such a high split, but very similar.
