Root lift with BBH

Chin length bob, poker straight lank hair.
I can get a bit of body in the sides but the top is flat and limp.

Have tried root sprays and YouTube but I suspect I'm just doing it wrong.

I have the same problem. I think the key is probably sectioning off the top and drying it up rather than to the side, if that makes any sense. My friend can do it but her hair is shorter. I tend to blow dry roots upside down to get volume first.

Glad I'm not along pug.
I have used my regular hairdryer on the roots at the same time but I guess it's damaging to the hair.
I keep reading about all these converts with bouncy, swishy hair and wish I knew the magic secretAngry

You need to run a fairly old school volumising mousse through your hair, section it so you're not doing too much at once, then dry the crown sections forward, ie, against the direction you want it to fall back. Then backcomb a bit when it's dry, and spray.

To be honest, I find the best way to get volume in that area is to put a couple of velcro rollers in after I've gone over it with the Big Hair and leave them till the last minute, so the hair gets a chance to 'set' in that lifted position.

Thanks Thecats, do you mean rotate the brush in the opposite direction at the crown?

No, I mean keep rolling the brush clockwise as normal to smooth it (?) but sort of pull the section of hair up and forward, so the tension is lifting the roots at the crown.

I'm explaining that really badly, sorry. Hopefully a hairdresser will come along and put it in better words! But I just copy what stylists do when I get a salon blowdry and it seems to work.
