There were some threads recently about the hot cloth cleanser bringing people out in a rash. Today there is an article that due to high levels of a particular bacteria, bottles bought online are being recalled.

This is the email I received after asking if I was affected, hope it helps:

We have recently discovered that a single batch of Cleanse & Polish does not meet our stringent Liz Earle quality standards, as a precautionary measure we are recalling that particular batch (200ml tube, batch: P6147D). We can confirm the batch we are recalling would have been purchased directly through our website and via our customer centre between the 1st and 25th July and not through John Lewis, Boots, QVC or flagship stores. We have identified customers who have purchased this particular batch and contacted them directly.

If your Cleanse & Polish is not from the affected batch, you can continue to use your Cleanse & Polish and do not need to take any further action. All of our other products and Cleanse & Polish batches have been thoroughly tested and we can reassure you that there is not an issue with any other products or batches.

We do hope this information helps but please don’t hesitate to contact our Customer Centre on 0800 413 318 if we can be of any further assistance.
