Hairstyles for dead straight hair

I'm approaching 40 and really fancy a change of hairstyle, but have zero inspiration at the moment, so could do with some help.

My hair is long (about bra strap length), dark brown, fine (but lots of it, so looks quite thick) and dead straight. I've currently got graduated layers at the front and a full fringe which is starting to grow out, so am sweeping it to the side. I am SO bored of it now, though, and ant something a bit more 'classy' and fresh.

I can't go for one of those mid length, be achy wave bobs, as my hair DOES NOT HOLD any kind of curl or wave. It just looks messy and scruffy after about half an hour.

So...need something sleek and that embraces my poker straight hair type....but something modern and fitting of a desperately holding on t their youth 39 and a half year old Grin.

Any ideas?

WatchIng with interest, have exactly same hair and similar style that I had for years, soooo bored with it. I sometimes look at Asian hair styles for inspiration but a lot of them are blunt and therefore inappropriate for my large nose. This is the style I'd love but it will nevrr happen with my hair.
