In our family in the autumn when we want to buy ourselves something we put it on a Christmas list instead, so that other members of the family know what to buy (because we all hate Christmas shopping).
I need a proper grown-up watch to replace my bright pink Lorus digital watch. It will make my DM very happy to buy it for me as she would like me to be more sophisticated and less teenager-y (what with me being nearly 50). I can't find anything that is exactly right. I would like a not too big face, with a date and a night light. A leather strap. Doesn't matter whether it's digital or analogue, but it can't be fussy. Preferably neutral-ish colours, grey, cream, brown or black. I have a slight preference for rectangular over round.
I've had a look around and I quite like the style of Skagen, Mondaine, some of the simpler Tissot ones and (oddly) some Ted Baker ones. But none of them have all the features that I would like.
Any recommendations, up to about £250-ish, gratefully received. TIA. I can link to some of the watches that I quite like if that would help.
