Very Serious Problem

When I wear skinny wool trousers to work and long socks (or opaque knee-highs) with my boots, the lower section of each trouser leg drags on the sock and I have to pull them back into place when I've been sitting down.

I don't want to switch to ankle socks because I get cold easily but more importantly don't want to have to bother too much with shaving my legs in the winter.

Does anyone have any solutions? Have thought about silk socks but don't want to invest in them if won't make any difference.

I don't ever wear long socks under trousers for this reason. No solution as far as I'm aware, unless you can find some very slippy socks

That's why men used to wear those garter type arrangements

How close do people get to the couple of inches of exposed ankle/lower leg that may occur from sitting in trousers to even notice if your legs are shaved? Don't bother, or either shave your legs or wear ankle socks, because it's the lock socks and slim trouser combo that's causing the ride up.

How are you're legs showing when you have trousers boots and ankle socks? Lots of socks would be long enough to cover your ankles while sitting, without being 'long socks' as such.

Keep the leg hair, it will help keep your legs warm. Switch to men's socks those halfway between the ankle and knee ones (you can get ladies ones).

I have this problem as well. I only wear opaque knee highs as I don't like bare feet in shoes, and because all the footsies I have ever tried show in my shoes - not because of hairy legs.

I think it's because my trousers aren't lined. If they were lined with something smooth, then the pop socks wouldn't catch.

Sorry, I don't have a solution, but I wish I did!

Didn't realise that the huirsuteness or otherwise of my legs would cause such dismay Grin.

I quite like being free of the demands of my epilator over the winter but although I'm not desperately bothered about terrifying my colleagues and fellow tube passengers with my leg hair, I don't particularly want to see it myself. It makes me feel scruffy (although not enough to get rid of it if I can avoid it). I've got very dark leg hair, which is irritating since I'm rapidly greying elsewhere.

I'll look out for mid-length socks, or I might try extending the lining.

Thanks everyone.

Tights under trousers if you're a chilly type?
