Talk me out of keeping these trousers...

New posting to S&B, but a lurker and need some opinions from those more fashionable than me.

I'm 34, 5'3" and about a 10 with rather muscular thighs (this is relevant!). I'm not very fashionable in general, tend to dress for comfort more than for fashion most of the time but I love and hoard clothes... since DS was born I've been a lot better at not throwing money away on disposable fashion that I never wear anyway and am making an effort to actually wear some of the stuff I've bought over the years instead of always buying new. But...

I went shopping at lunchtime. Popped into Zara to look at baby clothes and came out with a pair of fake leathery-suede-y trousers. For me, not DS. I don't know what possessed me to even try them on, but they fitted really, really well, so I bought them. I have never before owned nor wanted any sort of leather trousers... I'm not sure how much of it was down to the joy of them fitting nicely, or if it's actually my subconscious picking up on some key seasonal trend that I'll wear more than once... perhaps wishful thinking that my subconscious is more fashionable than my forebrain!

They are not really grey, more of a faded black, and on me come up somewhere between skinny and cigarette, and just above the ankle bone. Not quite one thing or the other in any respect! They are very soft, and were £26 so not bank-breaking, but if I don't keep them then it's a free pass to buy something else Grin

So wise ones, opinions please!

Keep them. They fit really well, you were drawn to them and you are now feeling like you are hip and happening. Honestly, that's worth £26.

Keep! They look like they'd go with anything during the autumn. You like them and they're not too pricey, as long as you get a few wears out of them then they're a Good Buy Grin

Return them, faux always looks faux and well... cheap.

Also, ime Zara is the stuff that disappears out of your closet the quickest and have since stopped bothering with them because of it. It may appear cheap at purchase but long term Zara is frighteningly expensive.

Keep, for sure!

In fact, I might get some myself as I have vouchers burning a hole in my pocket. I think they're really nice.

Disagree with botemp - the stuff I've had from Zara are the staples that I wear year in year out. Black trousers are hardly hard hitting fashion but even if you did only wear them for a season they were only £26.

OP what size did you get please?

Well it's a keep them from me if you like them and they fit well. My only query is how washable they are.... Do they go in the machine? They're not dry clean only are they? My other query would be around the general health and well being on your lady area. It's not going to be thrush heaven is it? Grin
