Depends on hair colour as well I think , I'm cool skinned and wore tortoise shell when I coloured my hair brown but since ditching the dye I find it looks wrong with grey hair and changed to black

I am def cool toned but wear tortoiseshell sunglasses. Black are too heavy for my face. I was surprised that the tortoiseshell ones work but they do. Having said that my real glasses are black and they look good, must be the black frame and black lenses that are too much

I wear tortoiseshell sunglasses and I'm Winter toned; black glasses just looked too much -possibly because I like huge sunglasses, and that much black plastic on my face was a bit OTT - brown was 'softer'. Having said that I've also had dark grey sunglasses before and they were really nice on me.

Will this tortoiseshell do?

Hmm well personally I wouldn't pick a tortoiseshell that bright - they look quite orange so I don't think they'd suit me. Mine are like these still tortoiseshell but not as bright.

But having said that, if they suit you and you like them, go for it!

I have some a a bit lighter and more browny than that - I have cool, pale skin tone and light brown hair and I think they look softer than black glasses.
How about going into a shop and trying loads on and taking pictures, then go and have a drink somewhere whilst looking at the pictures? Less likely to make a mistake then than trying them on in the tiny mirror with the tag in your face Grin

I'm actually buying them online, so I am not sure. I think they look too orange-y too.

I spent for too much time today trying on glasses - most of which were tortoiseshell. Ones as orange as the pic sort of wore me (even though I am warm toned) but I love those that badtaste linked. Worth trying on a bunch irl to get a better idea of shape and tones that work even if you will buy online in the end.

Is burgundy cool or warm?

Depends on the shade - an orangy toned burgundy is warm and doesn't suit me as much as a purple toned one - called maroon here.
