No7 colour match

I went to Boots today to try the colour match foundation. I was given 'wheat' which looked loads darker than I would usually use, I've always (thought I) had pale skin. To be fair, I do look 'well', and I'd started to think that maybe I'd just been using colours that were much too pale all these years.

When I got home, DH said he thought it was too dark, and looked fake tan ish. Also that he thought my face looked darker than my neck, although the same as my shoulders which caught the sun on holiday.

All the reviews seem to be over the moon with the colour selection. I'm wondering if anyone else has had a wrong shade suggested, or if it's just me!

Also, any idea which of the many shades would be one shade lighter than wheat?

TIA Smile

I was surprised how warm my colour turned out to be - I've always bought alabaster shades, and mine came out as Cool Ivory.

No idea where this comes on the scale, but I'm a pale skinned redhead who never tans, so it must be quite pale.

I got used to it, and I must admit I do look a bit healthier now.

Just looked at the online shade chart. Wheat looks really dark!

One below is Honey.

Thanks Yvaine, I was shocked at how dark it was too! Where are you seeing that colour chart? The one I can see has cool beige and deep beige either side of wheat, but I don't know if they're the same tone, or more brown iyswim. It would be so much handier if they did them in rows of 'pink tones, light to dark', 'orange tones? light to dark' etc'
Tbh, it's growing on me, but I'm not sure if just DH that's making me question it Blush
