Bra intervention people - what do I need?

Hi all,

So I've had issues with bras for forever and I'm pretty sure I'm still a 30G, but the issue I have is that pretty much everything is SO uncomfortable because of the styles. With most things, the underwire stabs me under the arms and in the sternum and is so painful, unless I wear a plunge style which is mostly ok till they stretch and I have to keep hoiking my boobs back in.

And then I get these awful lines where bras rub under my arms. like, at the point where the straps meet the fabric. With most 'full cup' styles it's like there's too much fabric and even with things like Freya Deco (my only really ok bra) I now have brown lines where the rubbing has discoloured my skin :( I wonder if I need closer together straps or something?

I don't know what to do. I've tried so many different things and it is getting me down because I just want to be able to buy something that doesn't feel awful or mark my skin. I'm really fair too so it shows a lot.

Thanks if you got this far!!

Have you measured recently?

Yeah, and I always come out the same. Size wise I'm a 30FF/30G and thats not changed. It's literally the shape that's the issue.

I'm a similar size - I actually measure a 28, cup size seems to change with brand! I wear a 32D for comfort, I can never wear in a 28, and a 30 in some brands.

I'm sure there's a guide to shape of boob and which cup suits best...

Because I've got narrow shoulders and also my boobs are quite high up too.. I have come to the conclusion that I need something with the 'wings' quite narrow (for want of a better phrase!) and straps close together... it's a nightmare!

I have had almost identical issues in the past and Deco was the best I could do at the time- I'm a 32ff. Then I lost a bit of weight and Deco stopped working- the top of the cups were empty. My only comfortable solutions since have been some of the Freya half cups.
The best has been the Marvel, Afterglow, Lauren and Rapture. Fails were the Patsy and Strawberry Fields where the straps were set too close to my armpits again.
I also found the Freya Hero side sling plunge comfy but wasn't as good with the shape.
If you want something completely different, the Gossard Glossies plunge (no padding and totally sheer) is incredibly comfy, it seems to come up at least one cup big though.

Just updating this!

So I took all advice on board and had a look at a few of these suggestions which gave me good ideas of what to look for. Went for the Bravissimo Satine in the end- Bravissimo seem to do the shortest wires and it's the comfiest bra I've owned in years!! Good shape as well.

I tried the Gossard Glossies one in a 30FF and loved it but the cup was slightly too small. Unfortunately when you get to the G the cup fabric extends by another good inch upwards which was just too high and cut in. So unless I lose some weight that is a no go for me.

Thanks for replies, the whole thing has made me feel much better as I'm a reasonable 'size' but a dodgy 'shape' so it usually just makes me feel a bit despondent!
