are parlux hairdryers worth it?

And if they are, which one is the best? I'm never sure what is supposed to be so good about them but I need a new hairdryer so am willing to invest if they are worth it.

It wasn't worth it for me but lots of posters really love them so I think it might depend on your hair type.

My hair is very thick, bra back strap length, wavy towards the bottom. I find the parlux too slow at drying and quite heavy. It just doesn't seem that powerful. I much prefer my old Babyliss one that blasts the air out and gets the job done in half the time.

But the parlux does reduce frizz and damage to ends. It smooths everything down, reduces static and makes my hair shinier.

So I dry with the babyliss dryer and finish off with the parlux one.

Damediazepam will be along soon to tell you I'm talking bollocks and it's the best hairdryer ever. Grin So don't just go off my experience.

Ah, my hair is fine but very frizzy, dry and can be quite static and poofy (I look like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards usually). It's past shoulder length. I had a revlon hairdryer which was fine but blew up this morning! I would love something, other than straighteners, that would impart some smoothness and shine!

I have the Parlux power light 385. My hair is thick just below my shoulders. My hair is dry in 10mins and smooth. Best hairdryer, had mine for 2years.

I love mine. It's solid and powerful, and it's small enough to travel with. I have curly hair and use a diffuser, though, so not looking for strong blasts of air like Enid. It's by far the best hairdryer I've ever had for my needs.

Mines fab - dries my hair ridiculously quickly, so much so I hate getting my hair dried at the hairdressers as I get frustrated at how long it takes 😬

Could be a good one for you then Cray. It really deals with static. I'm really prone to it for some reason but a quick blast with the parlux gets rid. No idea how. I was just disappointed with the slowness.

I also have the Parlux power light 385. I have tried other Parlux hair dryers, and this is the best of them I think (other models are too heavy and not as fast at drying my hair).
I honestly think it is the most effective dryer I have ever had ! I borrowed a friend's new Dyson dryer last week, and although it has some plus points (lightweight, quiet), in terms of results the Parlux is much better .

I love my parlux. Not sure what model it is but IIRC they are all pretty similar. Any higher end hairdryer will be a dramatic upgrade from your Revlon-- enjoy!

I'm guessing yes as salons use them! They are known for their longevity unlike some 'professional' brands like GHD!

Thanks everyone, I think I'm quite tempted! So the parlux 365 seems to be the one to go for then? There are quite a few models but I can't see how they can be that different?

Mine is the 3200 compact. If that helps any.

Love mine but interested if people can recommend a parlux travel one. Will happily wear the same outfit for 2/3 days on holiday but do need to control my frizzy mane!

I bought one with great expectations but I didn't find it any better or worse than the one it was replacing other than being slightly less noisy. But my previous one was a good enough one too so I wasn't moving from a terribly bad dryer so perhaps that is why I don't find the Parlux terrific.

For me, it is just another hairdryer.
