Having not worn skirts or dresses for work for a number of years, I have now lost some weight and want to start wearing them again. I need something on my !egs though...any recommendations that don't make you look like you are wearing your Nan's American Tans?

I use the Boots or Tesco tights. 15 denier as I find the 10 denier too thin. The colour seems ok. Hope that helps. Unfortunately the recycling bin had gone. I can't post a photo of the packet.

Tesco 15 denier sheen. Come in a two pack.

Next have some nude ones which look very natural. I even wore a pair with the ties cut out on Saturday night and thought they looked fine.

is supposed to wear these ones from John Lewis ones. How they know, I am not sure. [[http://m.johnlewis.com/mt/www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-7-denier-barely-there-non-slip-tights-pack-of-1/p395531?colour=Nude&s_afcid=af_136348&awc=1203_1462516425_4a53c1382e07a3852fa68457b7a20c07#page_loaded]]

Primark ones are exactly my skin tone - I look like I've not got anything on at all. Plus they're cheap and seem to wear well.

Just realised I've had those JL ones too - bought them from Waitrose when desperate. They were very good but was glad I'd sized up.

Although if Kate is wearing "barely there" tights they are failing miserably as they always look heavy to me.

I think Kate's tights are too sheeny and make her look really frumpy not a young woman in her thirties.

Isn't the whole point of nude tights that it looks like you aren't wearing anything?

Maybe it's just my personal preference but I really hate the ones with a sheen.

I have just looked at some photos and yes I agree it is the sheen that makes them look frumpy.

I am going to try the John Lewis ones next. I got marks and Spencer's illusion tights - made me look like a corpse.

The sheen ones make me look like I've got sausage legs! !

I bought John Lewis "ladder resist" barely there nude tights recently - nice colour but a huge hole appeared at the top within minutes. So much for "ladder resist."

Autograph at M&S do a nice range.

My favourite are probably the H&M ones (cheapest too). They're in a white packet and they last for ages.

The Calzedonia nude tights are also really lovely. I bought some in France recently. I think they have shops in London and possibly Brighton, if that's any good.

M&S always suited me.

Granad ladder resistant means that they don't ladder if they get a hole, not that they don't get holes!

I am currently wearing 70 denier nude tights, no holes/laddering, bought off amazon

M&S Autograph do (or did!) lovely ones that were really natural and sheer. Can't remember what they were called though - sorry!

I tend to go for Pretty Polly hold-ups. A bit more pricey but a pair seems to last me a while if worn infrequently/washed carefully.
