With the nobbles on the bottom. I have a craving for some.

Do I need to -
A) have a word with myself
B) consider it a symptomatic of diving hormones and look for alternative diversions
C) accept my inner biddy is busting out and reconcile myself to being one step away from a useful handbag owner with mints and tissues aplenty
Or unlikely
D) consider I might be entering into my restrained and classically stylish years?

I like them but they look like they would be useless for the climate in this country? its just knobbly bits directly on soft leather.

First,, if you want a good cheaper version, some of the Geox styles are very similar (also an Italian company).

I only resist that type of shoe altogether because the little bits of rubber and very thin soles may be OK for driving but I don't find them comfortable, in the sense of well-cushioned and supported, enough to walk on for very far. And I do expect to walk in flats. But perhaps if you are fairy light on your feet, unlike me, that won't be a problem for you.

I bought some frye ones. I like them but they drew so many unfavourable comments, ones I sadly couldn't really disagree with, that they've been relegated to gardening shoes :)

I've taken to wearing mainly boat/deck shoes as much as physically possible
same comfy factor
no nobbly bits
thick soles
good for rain

I am thinking more along these lines rather than the red Python numbers.

In my head I see European chic with cropped skinnies, boyfriend shirt and wafty trench. In reality it is more likely to be Brenda from Brentwood with padded coat,neckerchief and a nice sensible blouse.



My DM did express some delight when I indicated my latest sartorial urge, which is unprecedented. My choices are usually met with more than a touch of the side eye 😄. That's when I thought it might be wise to check in here.....

Haven't checked out on their site whether Geox still have a reasonable selection of Tods-alikes. But R and B usually do - not cheap but cheaper than originals.

minty what do you wear orthotics for, if you don't mind me asking? My osteopath mentioned that my arches are dropping and I should get some but I don't know where to start or what shoes would accomodate them.

Madmomma I have flat arches and arthritis in one big toe joint (feel about 500 saying that). If they are not properly supported my feet are agony. I wear my orthotics in Blundstone boots, Camper trainers, knee high boots - things you can't "step out of". In the summer I wear Birkenstocks and although not as pain-free they are better. The worst for me are completely flat, skinny, scrappy sandals of flip flops. Or anything you might have to sort of grip with your toes. Or indeed these lovely loafers as the orthotic would cause me to step out of them or be tempted to do without then hobble. Sorry for hijacking thread OP!

Wow, crevice, I admire you for being to walk around comfortably in those, to me, incredibly high wedges. I couldn't - am a flats only person.
