What did your 'tom boy' girls wear to their school prom?

It's not until next year, she's only year 10 at the moment, but the other thread got me thinking. And the fact that DD recently went on a school trip which involved dinner at a very smart hotel and they were told to 'dress up'. DD eventually chose a black patterened shirt/blouse, with a black skater style flared skirt, and patent pumps/loafers (she won't wear heels as she's very tall).

But when I saw the photos she looked so uncomfortable and out of place as all the girls had dresses on.

So, looking ahead, what did your girls (who prefer jeans/converse/vans to dresses/skirts) wear to their prom!

There were some girls at my son's Prom last year in Tuxedos, they looked good.

Would she wear something quirky? Some girls would never wear a traditional prom dress but would wear something a bit different and still look fabulous. Maybe 50s style complete with quiff?

I bought my daughter a grey cocktail length dress which was embroidered and sequinned in a slightly lighter grey, she was adamant she didn't want a long dress, she also wore a low heeled shoe. You might find your DD would wear a dress if she was able to choose a less "girly" colour she felt comfortable with.

I refused to go to my year 11 ball. We were told we had to wear ball gown style dresses and a whole load of other rules that I didn't like the sound of. 6th form ball was much more relaxed, lots of girls in trouser suits, black skirt/nice top combos as well as more fancy stuff.
