Going bra shopping later but after hearing how bad measuring can be I wanted some MN help ;) my bra gapes at the front a lot and the top of the cups fits pretty well (any bigger would be too big) have tried tightening the bra and jt gapes further?? Please help! Ps I wear nursing bras, baby is 12mo

I'd go to bravissimo or a good shop so not marks and spencer or debenhams! Get properly fitted.

Ah I was heading to mothercare, planning to just try a load on and see what fits. But any ideas what sort of size i might need? The bra I described above is 36D

Sorry if it's impossible to say!

Ok ladies I tried a 32E and it fits beautifully in the cup, no gaping at all. The band feels ever so slightly tight but 34e cups are top big. What do I do?!

Your measurements indicate a 32E. The band feeling tight may just be because you've been wearing a much looser one or it may be a make that comes up small. If you go up a band size to 34 then you'd need to go down a cup size to D.

I bought the 32E, I can't believe how big that sounds! But it fits lovely and can fit lots of fingers under the band so hopefully not too tight. Thanks everyone :)

The 32 will just be feeling tight because it's brand new and you've been wearing a bigger bra. You'll get used to it!

It was so hard to find that size though, it was only available in one style. Loads in 36b / 36c etc. Is everyone wearing the wrong size?! I think my boobs look pretty average and im a size 10/12 so hard to believe they're particularly big or anything

Although they are massive compared to what I used to have!!!! Will miss them when DD stops feeding!

It's not that your boobs are massive, it's that most people are wearing the wrong size - too big a band and too small a cup.

However loads of places do a 32E, it's not a crazy size at all. Which shops did you try? All of the big department stores will do it.

I got myself measured at Boux Avenue last week, and they put me in a 32E (which has been a revelation for me!). They have lots of nice styles in that size.

Love boux avenue. Still in nursing bras though so limited in that respect and I don't like to buy lots in case I go up / down sizes, especially as shes 12mo now so feeding less. Hoping a 2 pack will do me for now but will keep my eyes peeled for more! I got them from mothercare, they barely had any sizes 34 or 32, crazy now I know that must be such a common size as I'm sure I'm pretty average (though dh is very pleased with my "big jugs"!!!!!)

Wearing my new bra today, soooo good!!! My boobs look like they do in bra adverts where it fits perfectly, I can't believe it's taken me so long!!

Yep, everyone is wearing the wrong size. An E cup isn't that big, it would be fairly average if people were measured properly looks at own H cups
