Remodelling engagement ring...

I'd quite like to get my engagement ring remodelled into another style. I rarely wear it, partly because it needs made smaller and I haven't got around to it but also because the style means the stones jut out and it gets in the way.

I don't wear rings day to day so I think I'd like to get it made into something more dramatic I could wear as a going out kind of ring. Any ideas?

It's similar to this one.

A pair of diamond studs for your ears and the middle stone as a solitaire? Get a square (4 pronged) mount which is set low onto the band and it will be less intrusive!

Oh, I see you said more dramatic! I thinking the 3 diamonds are set out in the only way they can be. Go for the earrings but look at different settings for the single diamond on line? You could have lots of smaller stones in your favourite colour/birth stone arranged around it?

Find a style of ring you love first and see what fits?

It looks lovely ( and very expensive ) but I see what you mean. I never wore my 1 st engagement ring for the same reason.
For my second engagement ring. We went for the main diamond as a bezel set rub over, with two black diamonds either side but 2 mm from the centre. Imagine a eye shape. Big diamond is the pupil, other two are at each corner of the eye also set down low inthe platinum.

There's nothing in the centre of the. Eye apart from the diamond in the middle.

I've never taken it off since my DH put it onmy finger nearly 4 years ago. It was made for me and designed by me and most importantly ...it catches on nothing.

Here we go

www.google.co.uk/search?q=eye+shaped+engagement+ring&client=safari&hl=en-gb&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjZ8Yia8JLLAhXDORQKHQW4DtIQ_AUICSgC&biw=768&bih=928#imgrc=zWq-IhKwsI_QdM%3A

This is very similar. Mine does not have the tiny diamonds round outer edges. Just the two black ones at either side of the eye.

I see it's called split band engagement rings.

Ta both. I have been considering getting it made it earrings, which I would wear and setting the other diamond into a pendant - but i don't wear delicate pendants - need something chunky. Using the third diamond as the centre of a new ring with coloured stones is a really clever idea.

I like the split band engagement ring too. Something with colour does appeal! It's just a little too traditional the way it is now ... don't know what I was thinking when I chose it.

I like the idea of earrings with the smaller ones and then the larger one set into a kind of square cluster ring art deco style. Depending on your budget you could surround with coloured stones and then a second ring/square of teeny diamonds.

I sympathise as I also don't know what I was thinking with my wedding ring! It's a vintage eternity ring with the diamonds set into very little metal so it basically all about the diamonds. Then I had kids and realised the impracticality of very little metal as the ruddy diamonds kept falling out and having to be replaced!

I was going to suggest an Art Deco style too (as it's what I want to do with mine!). I'm thinking of something like this, but not sure I'd go for colour.

skinny I love that one - exactly the kind of thing I was thinking about.
