Recommendations please! Curling wand or curling pods or what?

I've got some Christmas money to spend and I need a decent hair curling device but just baffled myself with too much googling..

I've looked at curl pods, ghd wands (more than I want to pay!) and a Babyliss soft curl thingy and now no idea what to do.

Can anyone recommend something please? I've got (a lot of) shoulder length hair and I'd like to transform it into fabulous beachy waves... Grin

I have a wonderball wand by lee stafford. Its really good and easy to use. It comes with a glove but i never use it. You basically heat it up and and wind it around. I also have and enrapture encode totem hair styler. Its also really very good. Its a similar device really. Both beautiful effects.

Lurking in hope of recommendations too - my hairdresser did mine with the Ghd wand yesterday which looked great and held well but pretty sure I couldn't do that myself.

Mine is shoulder length and thick too.

I was wondering about heated rollers but maybe they aren't quite right for that kind of wave?

I tried heated rollers but they were just no good for my hair. I had real difficulty getting the rollers to stay in my hair. The wand is quick and easy and instant.

Yeah, I'm not totally convinced by the idea of curlers, but I wondered if it might make me be a bit more careful with sectioning my hair off? Off to google Lee Stafford...

Babyliss pro curl thing- sucks your hair into the barrel. It's amazing, hair changing stuff. Over £100 but worth it. I have lots of shit things that never worked properly. This really does.

The babyliss curl secret is under 100quid at Argos and even cheaper at boots by the looks of it. Just looked it up thanks to this thread and it almost looks too good to be true. I love having waves and have never forked out for an appliance as my hair is so heavy they just fall out and it always takes so long, this looks quite easy to do an relatively quick. Wish I had a spare 80quid to try it.
