I'm looking for something similarish to the one Sarah Lund wore in the Killing but have a feeling that they really only work on very slim women. Do any of you have any thoughts?

Listen to your feelings! I wouldn't do it, especially if you are at all norky....... Crew necks make (this) one look very solid and matronly, and knits are always modelled by models as thin as pipe cleaners for a reason.

I agree with cressetmama in that I look hugely boobtastic in the woollen fair isles that I've tried. I would love to find one that isn't too narrow in the neck, not too short and not too thick so that it's more drapey and flattering.

Well, I found this but it is more of a dress than anything else.

Clearly, I wouldn't get it in white

Hmm, I think this might have to be something that passes me by. The problem with lots of jumpers is they finish on the fattest part of my stomach, which looks terrible.

I love them. And then I try them on and look as though I've gained a stone. The only person I know that they suit apart from Sarah Lund is a friend of mine who is a small size 6.

They really are not flattering on anyone but the most slender of women as they add so much bulk and cling to every spare ounce of flesh. If Sarah Lund had been a size 16 I bet she wouldn't have worn one ...

Hi, I think a jumper dress I'm a Nordic style is the way to go. I am a size 16 and pregnant and I have bought this one in a large: www.next.co.uk/g9430s2
Looks great with skinny jeans and boots and I've had lots of compliments Smile

I got a couple of nice fairisle jumpers on Asos. Nicest one is the Jack Wills one, it's well made and red with a white pattern.

It's also a bloke's jumper but I don't really care Smile

To my mind the repeated bold pattern on the fairisle jumpers Sophie Grabol wears in The Killing aren't suited to those who are more than a size 10.

There's hundreds of fairisle jumpers and cardigans on eBay. This has a flattering neckline, generous sizing, and the pattern is above the boobs which makes it more forgiving than most. It's acrylic but you may be able to find something similar in lambswool if warmth/natural fibres is an issue: //www.ebay.co.uk/itm/351528536707?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Here's Ms Grabol gifting Camilla with a sweater that will make her ample norks look positively pneumatic Smile //www.google.co.uk/search?q=sarah+lund+the+killing&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0CBwQsARqFQoTCLn-jIHtnMkCFQlZFAods48N4w&biw=1007&bih=428#imgrc=tCqzopyUCkKQXM%3A

If you decide to go for it woolovers have some nice ones in a variety of designs and quite reasonably priced. You could go for a fair isle cardi if you are worried about a jumper adding bulk.

Sorry, just looked at your link - i have one from their range and it is a nice pattern/quality

This scoop neck jumper from the woolovers site comes in a variety of colours and the sizes are generous. I'm torn between the flannel, mid-grey and sage. Blueberry is lovely but I don't think I would suit foxglove pink: //www.woolovers.com/lambswool/womens/fairisle-jumper.aspx

This is scary! I a size 14 and have a jumper just like Sarah Lund's. I feel fine in it but maybe need to take another look!

A size 14 is fine :)
I am sure you look great in it.

Oh and for those with a big bust, what about wearing a nordic cardigan?

I've got the Mango one, and an ample bosom, love Nordic jumpers and wouldn't let my vast frontage put me off wearing one! In fact, what better to show off the pattern? Also love Sophie Grabol!

Oooooh, I love the sea salt one! Perhaps one for the Christmas list?

I have that woolovers jumper in navy: it's a nice warm jumper but not flattering (on me, anyway: 12-14, big boobs). It's quite thick lambswool and a bit short. I would like a lot of woolovers products but so many are too short.
