Tights - find me a pair that don't roll about the waist

I've finally caved in and have put on my first pair of tights now that its all autumny and chillier. A bog standard M&S tummy control thick denier (70?) black tights. Yet I'm sitting at my desk and now I remember why I prefer wearing trousers....the top of the tights roll down so when I stand up, I feel I have to discretely unroll them and yank them up a bit.

I don't think it's the sizing as crotch to foot, their fine. My ever so slightly wobbly tummy may be a factor Wink, but are there better tights out there that don't cost the earth? (before anyone suggests Wolford!)

Anyone else share my pain!?

Believe it or not, the best and most comfortable tights that I have ever had were bought on a whim from Primark. I will never go back to more expensive brands.

Thanks, I've give them a look.

Bump - anyone?

I wear another pair of knickers over my tights and that seems to work.

I've had luck with Sainsbury's tights before. I find the tummy control ones uncomfortable though so would just get plain ones.

I am 5'6 and size 10. I wear large m&s tights or they fall down

Also Primark. Never had a ladder but they do tend to wear at the crotch

I've never had the rolling thing, although I have had LOTS of tights that just slide down gradually. I find M&S got terrible for this, and I ended up binning dozens of then in a fury last winter.

Boots are coming up trumps so far....

Primark for me too.

The ones that are more substantial at the waist are the ones more likely to roll down in past experience.
Now I buy tights that are a size bigger than I need and only wear the stomach flattening ones rarely and don't have the roll down problem.
Also hoicking them up under your boobs is warm and gives better lines under your clothes.

I buy bigger and tuck them up under my shelf, too

Have you tried hold-ups? I've tried several brands and actually Tesco F&F do really nice ones that don't fall down (only in black, though). Not really as warm as tights but I've got to the point where I prefer them.

Primark 100 denier are brilliant.

Boots and Sainsbury's get my vote. I don't know what M & S have done to their tights in the past few years, but they do roll down, or just fall down. I would blame my fat Tummy but I found a pack of 40 denier opaques from a few years ago and they are fine.

Thanks all, a few options to try. I didn't consider the fact that they are control top might be the issue. Ah well, flabby tummy but comfy tights I think is the better option!!

Tesco 140 denier are the best I've ever found. Don't roll down and stay looking like new for ages.

Ha, was literally just looking at those in Tesco but only S or XL in stock. For £4, they are worth a try so I'll keep an eye out for restock

Don't buy M&S 150 denier. Mine were riding down my legs last night and left me exposed as they took my pants with them. Spooky indeed!!

Primark or new look are the best I've found.

I've got the tesco 140 velvet effect tights on today to try them. So far so good, will report later. £4 though, if they work out that will be great.
