Style overhaul needed!

Help needed with his please, I'm 5ft 3, currently 13st 4lb although I'm doing slimming world so losing weight. Need some ideas on a few staple items that will see me through weight loss but not cost too much as they will hopefully end up too big for me!

I'm currently still wearing maternity clothes which isn't doing me any favours, DD was 5 weeks yesterday and I have a 2 year old son so nothing white please grin

I'm fairly confident about wearing any colour/pattern etc but I'm fed up of leggings and unflattering top combos.
I just want to look nice and make myself feel better.

Any help would be massively appreciated as I have no clue where to start!!

what sort of clothes do you like?

Skinny jeans would be nice with a flowing top over... and colours which suit you.

sales are great for this.

When my DC was around the same age I compromised on what I wore a bit as I also didn't want to buy too much which would quickly become too big.
I wore maternity jeans with a bump band to keep them up (although now have some high-waist stretchy jeans that would do the same job).
Then I wore long vest tops (matalan have some good ones for £4 each, tesco have some swing vests that are really flattering) and a fitted cashmere cardigan over the top.
I found that loose clothes made me look bigger, generally speaking.

Do you know what kind of colours you're looking for?

I'm honestly happy to give anything a go! Colour wise anything goes and style wise I have always preferred dresses over jeans etc although that's more to do with never finding the right pair I think

I've fallen into the primark trap of thinking everything from other shops is too expensive which has led me to having a wardrobe full of clothes that have seen better days!

OP this is a bit of a MN trot out (in terms of S&B) but scarves are good to liven up and nice jewellery, statement stuff, non statement.

you can get cheaper scarves in Primark and the jewellery, nicer statement everywhere from Accessorize sale to New Look.

In fact been on New Look website recently and been seriously impressed with their stuff - shoes etc.

Funny you should say that but in my early 20's I was all about the accessories! They've dwindled over the years

At that point after having a baby I just went to a Next discount place and stocked up. None of it needed to last long, but I needed, psychologically, to be out of mat clothes.
