Help with spray tanning.... how to?

Hi....
I just bought a spray tanning kit but I'm having some trouble..... when I sprayed my sister she came out so dark even though I only used DHA 8%... is this normal? Should I purchase a better brand of tan?

When spraying I always seem to get drips on the persons body from and I think i'm using too much solution.

Any tips?
