I've had tear trough filler today....

Following on from my previous secret botox thread today I have had secret tear trough filler.

I've aways had these hollows under my eyes and the botox does nothing for this area. My dermatologist recommended tear trough filler.

It was £190

Negatives include bruising. Pretty bad, and immediaty after raised areas and lots of swelling and redness. And it hurts! As you can imagine it means this is pretty impossible to have on the quiet. Thank God dp is away for the weekend. I'm hoping to look better tomorrow

Positives I can already see my previous hollow area is gone. I used to have eye bags and puffiness all the time whether I had enough sleep or not.

So far the jury's out whether it's worth it....

That's incredibly cheap. I paid £650 with Dr Mountford in Harley St.
I'd not have it done again. No bruising, no redness, but very tender to the touch for a good 3-4 weeks ( when pressed) and I'd worry about long term damage if done again.

Facial cheek fillers- fine- and got over a year out of them for the same cost- but tear troughs only lasted 6 months.

Santas did you find the cheek filler gave as good a result? The nurse said there was no point I'm having cheeks done as I still had lots of volume... I don't have any tenderness at all atound the injection site and my mil has just told me I look beautiful! Result lol :)

I've had mine filled and it made a huge difference. Hurt like a bugger for the first few days though.

I had cheek fillers a couple of weeks ago, and I'm delighted with the results.

I also haven't lost much volume (I'm 48), but I had marionette lines - I had 1 injection into each cheek and a tiny bit at the top of the line on the left side as it was deeper. The overall effect is very natural, the lines are greatly reduced, there's a general (gentle) lift to my lower face and, amazingly, I'm using a fraction of the under eye concealer that I've used for years! I was concerned that my cheeks would look weird, but they don't at all

I didn't tell DH until the day after, partly because I didn't want him having a go at me, and partly because I wanted to see if he'd notice. When I told him, he had a good look (ha ha), and actually thought it was great

flux- if you don't need it, you don't need it! I had it done in my mid-50s. I am a very 'young' looking mid-50s, so I am told (!) but I had developed a slight line across the top of each cheek with a kind of 'pouch' above it which I was told was due to loss of fat underneath. I had 1mls each side and it was great- got 15 months out of it. Didn't have tear trough done at the same time though- too much 'ouch'!
No one guessed I'd had anything done but it filled out the slight hollow.
But I wouldn't pay the price I did for tear troughs that only lasted 6 months. I got a 50% improvement with those which is what Dr Mountford said.

I was thinking about tear trough filler (Restylane) with Glancey Medical?Associates (Marylebone and Essex clinics) - is it all the same for tear trough

Essex I don't know as I'm new to all this but I reckon there most be places more specialised to it. Be warned though it does hurt and there are lots of blood vessels and capillaries round there so I would ask about whether they manage to avoid bruising most of the time and of they do that sounds like a good one.
