Hi all

I've been trying to find a good budget foundation for ages, but after trying many samples (and I mean many ), I found them all to be fairly disappointing and I don't see the point in wasting money on a product that isn't what I want, even if it is budget. I tried the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation, with and without serum and I found the coverage almost non existent. The non serum one was slightly better, but it's more of a tinted moisturiser...I found anyway. I tried the Rimmel 25hr one and the coverage was definitely better, but it felt really cakey on my skin and I didn't really like the finish. I admit, I'm pretty fussy Confused

I heard about the YSL one quite recently and the reviews are brilliant! It's also number one with Lisa Eldridge, which is always a winner with me!

Anyone tried this?

TIA ladies

Yes I have it and I love it! A little goes a long way so it last me ages. Make sure you get the colour right, they can be a little yellow. Coverage is light but can easily build up to medium. Lovely natural 'glowing' finish.

I've used it for a while and I like it. That said, since mat leave I've been using a Rimmel BB cream instead.

Sparkly, ah I thought it was medium to full. I don't really need full coverage I suppose. I'm only 30 and have decent skin, but I do get quite pink on my cheeks and nose. It gets quite bad in the cold weather, so I just like to mask that, but then I also like a glowy, radiant finish, if I possible Hmm Am I asking too much?

Oh dear. Well it's just as well I didn't take the risk and pick a shade online like I was going to. I'm not close to any YSL counter and it's really hard for me to get in, so thanks for the heads up. I'm definitely going to have to make the journey.

I absolutely love it - great coverage without feeling heavy, makes you look lovely and glowy, and lasts ages. I tend to use a bit of concealer on my nose as well, just for fuller coverage where I need it.

I use it religiously and love it! If you want heavier coverage there's a Lancôme one which is great, I can't remember the exact name, toeing miracle I think?

I love it. I'm 53 with dry/combination skin and it's just perfect for me. I would say it is a medium coverage that gives a lovely glowy finish. I use a primer underneath and buff it in with the Real Techniques buffing brush. It then looks v natural and lasts all day. Well worth the money.

It looks like the new YSL one is fuller coverage www.yslbeauty.co.uk/makeup/complexion/foundation

I haven't tried it but read somewhere that Rimmel Match Perfection foundation is just as good

I find ysl to be quite similar to healthy mix in terms of coverage.
Armani luminous silk gave good coverage but retained a glowy look.

I really rate it, and it gives a lovely dewy finish . I am also now using the Fusion Ink one which is perhaps slightly more sheer and definitely more mart. Both are fantastic . I am pale, usually use the lightest shade of foundation but I am shade BR20 on both these YSL ones , which is not the very lightest one . The YSL counters give out good size samples so ask for one of both? Then you can see which suits . The foundation is not cheap , and I would ask for these samples to guide you.

I spoke to a YSL representative on the phone the other day, to ask about maybe sending out a sample (didn't happen Sad ) and she was trying to plug the new one. I'm not sure why, because I didn't even tell her what kind of skin I had, or what kind of foundation I wanted. Ie, matte finish, light coverage, full coverage. Annoyed me actually, but anyway, if this new one is better coverage, but still with a dewy finish, then I prefer the sound of that one Smile

I used to use it and it was probably the best foundation I've ever used. I switched to a mineral foundation powder compact for time reasons, but as soon as I have time to spend more than 47 seconds on my make up I will revert.

Yes, I use it and love it. A little goes a long way and as other posters have said, you can build it up to have more coverage.

I would say you do need to go and get the correct colour match though. The sample is a decent size too.

Maybelline bb cream is pretty good too so have a look at that.

How does it compare to diorskin nude? Is it a no go for oily skin?
