Non permanent hair colour

Any hair colour experts out there?
I think I have overly porous hair in that even if I use a non permanent colour on, it just never washes out!
I have been using Nice n Easy (washes out in 24 shampoos) but it doesn't wash out on me.
I have grey roots and very dark hair. I have put off colouring it for 3 months in hope that it will fade and I can put another colour on (too dark for my age now I think) but it's no good. Just won't fade and am faced with having to grow the dye out. Grey roots are annoying me madly so covering up with mascara etc but too much now to even get away with that.
Am desperate to put a colour on but just want something that will fade over time rather than Nice n Easy which doesn't. It's not non permanent on me! I've tried washing with medicated shampoo etc and that's not making much (any) difference.
Any help would be lovely.

Have you tried using Colourb4 on it to remove the dye? It stinks but worked really well on my hair.

TBH I'm scared of colour B4. I would love to try it - but I'm not much of a risk taker I'm afraid.
Any truly temporary colours out there?

Apparently Head n Shoulders is quite good for stripping dye from hair?

Semi permanent has peroxide in it so it can enter the hair shaft . Repeated colouring is leaving you with a build up. Colourb4 will remove most of the build up ans start again. Choose a lighter colur if you think your old colour was too dark. And only do your roots once you get the ends right.
Loving care/nice and easy washes out in 6 /8 washes , also fanciful do wash out colours . Hope that helps.

Thank you cindydog.

Maybe I'll have a go at Colour b4. I thought semi permanent were meant to wash out after 24 washes - but it seems they are more permanent than semi!

Should I do a strand test with colour B4?

I use that stuff (the Nice and easy that is) - it leaves roots on me as well. It really doesn't wash out. I've seen reviewers of it saying the same thing. Nothing wrong with your hair, just the description on the box!
