Looking for inspiration, which stores are the forerunners for high fashion?

Surely, you'd be better off looking at a store's range and trying to work out which ones you actually like and can see yourself wearing.

I'd look a proper tit in "high fashion".

I see things that I really like on some sites then I think, hmmm, I s something like this last year, is it considered 'passe'? I fancy adding a few pieces of very current (and inexpensive) items to update my wardrobe.

Topshop, Zara, Whistles, & Other Stories are the ones that spring to mind.

Zara, Zadig & Voltaire, The Kooples, & Other Stories

sorry though, the last three are hardly inexpensive! (I've not been able to buy anything from there yet, but live in hope and browse all the time....)

Depends on your style age. If you dress 'young' probably river island, urban and top shop. If you're a bit more 'grown up' Cos and Other Stories.

Note 'style age', not actual age!

But really the net is better for young directional fashion, Nastygal is amazing.

Don't you worry about quality though? Top Shop stuff lasts me five minutes.

Zara and Top shop are probably the fastest at getting current trends out for sale.
