If I was going to treat myself to a couple of cardigans or maybe jumpers (must be v neck) where should I look?

Are they very cosy?

I got one from Tesco a couple of years ago ( V neck, elbow length sleeve, classic camel shade) half price at £20.

It is soooooooo soft Smile
Warm.
Washable ( I put it in a bag with a 30c wash and use Woolite)

Try Woollovers - i got 2 lambswool jerseys for £45, they do cashmere too (lambswool isn't as soft though)

John Lewis based on a cost per wear basis esp their weekend range.

Autograph is good too- there are always new ones available on eBay.

Don't laugh but the Isle range at the gifferdom that is Edinburgh Wool Mill did some really great cashmere. It isn't cut in the normal boxy way their stuff usually is. I have a smokey navy v- neck that is wearing incredibly well.

If you are feeling flush than Johnstons of Elgin cashmere is gorgeous. This is actually probably the best I have had. It's said to be on a par with Brora but not as expensive. I actually ordered a Brora cashmere cardigan once and found it was rough and scratchy and not cut well ( it was a cropped one and very long in the body). Maybe it would have worn in but I was underwhelmed but the Johnstons one was soft from the off and warm too.

Avoid Boden (doesn't wear well and isn't very soft).

If you are on a budget look at vintage Ballantyne cashmere I used to buy from vintage shops or on E Bay its top quality cashmere at a great price.

Also check out My Pashmina ethical retailer and great quality. I have some sweaters from them over 8 years old and they still look good. They have a clearance section and have some good deals.

Be reeeeally careful about moths if you're going to bring vintage cashmere into your wardrobe. Get it dry-cleaned and freeze for 36 hours to kill any larvae.

I have a few High St cashmere jumpers, and Gap has turned out best. I'm wearing it today, was a birthday present last December, and there's no bobbling. Grazia has 30% off this week, but don't know if the cashmere is included.

Thanks for the advice. Woolovers is looking pretty good value for money at the moment. the unisex stuff, I normal wear jumpers pretty fitted, how do you find the styling works out? is it very baggy?

or good ole M&S especially if they do another 40% of everything (wishes I thought of this when I did that order a couple of months ago)

Also is it worth waiting for the after Christmas sales? Does this kind of thing come down at all

I bought 2 from Next last year which on me are the perfect cut and beautiful wool. They aren't doing the same v neck this year but might be worth a look.
