Bra - measure 27E - can this be right?

I think I need a bra intervention...

I got fitted in a 32C by John Lewis but the band feels loose and the cups are 'gappy'. I remembered the bra intervention threads and my measurements come up as 27inch under bust and 33inch at widest part (when I'm bedding forward).

I work that out as 27E- can this be right? It seems like a tiny back and I have never seen this size in shops. Where would I go to look for this size if it is really what I should be in?

There is no 27 unfortunately so you need to try a 28DD/E. There is a brand called Made in Preston which makes 26 band bras and you'd need to try a 26E/F. Online is going to be your friend or Bravissimo. Debenhams sometimes have 28 bands in store too.

Thanks Sorrel - I'll try Bravissimo and Debenhams before going online - would like to check fit first (can't believe I'm such a small back)!

My back measurement in bras is 26" or 28". I'm on the small side but not 'tiny'.

I think lots of women are actually these size backs, but so many wear the wrong size bra that they're seen as unusual sizes.

Debenhams, John Lewis and House of Fraser often have 28" backs, especially on the sale rails.

Thanks Christina. There's a House of Fraser near my work so will take a look there too. I'm small too but not tiny - I wonder where the truly tiny women get bras?!

Do you have really small waists too? Envy

I'm really a 27" too and I wouldn't call myself tiny. But I get along ok with 28" - it's a lot better than the 32" I was wearing before! I'm Envy to hear some Debenhams/John Lewis and House of Fraser stock 28s as my local branches certainly don't! I normally make a trip to Bravissimo.

I'm a 28 back too. I often find them in debenhams especially on the sale rail as someone else said. Whoever asked yes I have a smallish waist it's 24in but enormous hips in comparison (pear shape) and I wear size 10-12 clothing. I agree alot of women have small backs they just don't realise/haven't yet discovered the bra intervention/don't believe they can be as the trusted m&s fitter told them they're a 32A.

I'm fairly small all over - used to be a size 10. My shape hasn't really changed but with vanity sizing can now hardly get clothes to fit.

Also try e-bay shops by searching by size.

I'm a 28F. Size 8-10 in tops (although I have to be careful with the style because some size 8-10s don't seem to take into account room needed for boobs - empire lines are a complete no-go). I think most women who are a size 8-10 are probably a similar back size.

Arghhh no - don't tell me the department stores don't have 28 in stock! I'll have to make a trip to a bravissimo, which won't happen before my hot date this weekend Wink

I'm a size 8 and also finding it increasingly harder to find clothes that fit. I'm also very short. I'm not 'tiny' - my size is in propportion to my height so I don't look skinny if you see what I mean. I see women a lot slimmer than me - will be telling them they need a bra intervention too.

I read a thing on Katie Price where they listed all her boob jobs over the years (don't judge it was a two hour train journey), I was gobsmacked that her back size was 32 - I've seen her in real life and she is teeny tiny all over, funbags aside.

I figured she was probably a 28 and still doing the old, 'add 4 inches', bobbins.

Sofa That really annoys me about celebs bra sizes!

She is so tiny. I am sure she said recently that she has no idea what her bra size is.

I think it is partly the media saying a random bra size and said people not being able to find bras that fit so wear a bigger band.

It also annoys me when it is quoted that they have a boob job and go from a 32B to a 34D. Why has the band increased?

AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGHHHH

I need to stop reading so much shit.

Ooooh, hot date!! Do you need specific bra for what you intend to wear- I found strapless bras a nightmare with a small back and, i suppose, average-large sized boobs. (Having dcs soon took care of that!)
Someone please tell me he secret to measuring boobs correctly. I've always been measured and fitted, m&s, debenhams etc but have come out with some pretty different results depending on shop/ fitter...
I sometimes think that when I read celeb bra sizes in mags, sofa Teeny ladies claiming (or mag claiming) they're a 32/ 34 back size.

Magazines talk crap about bra sizes -I've seen Nicole sherzinger and halle berry both listed as 36c... I think they could wrap a 36 round them and fasten it at the front!

I'm a 26GG or 26H depending on the style, like a previous poster I'm short so in proportion, just small proportions Grin. I have a 23in waist, and tend to wear age 11-12 clothes for fit, taking the waist in by hand to show off my curves.
Made In Preston is about the only place Ai can get bras in this country.

32 bra back size here and size 16 in tops so I can see how smaller bands are much needed

I popped out at lunchtime and was disappointed with john lewis - smallest sizes is 28E. It was too big in the cup and the fitter said I should go down to 26 as 28 was a bit loose.

I bought an M&S 30D bra which fits ok and (most importantly) looks good. Temporary measure until I can get to a bravissimo.

Now on the subject of small sizes - anyone come across knee high boots with narrow fitting calves?!!

Duo is the place for narrow calves

Unfortunately the only place for a genuine 26 is made in Preston but they have very limited sizes. Bravissimo own brand bras tend to run snug in the cup compared to likes of Freya, and panache and Cleo ate normally somewhere in the middle. So there may be 28s which work

Made in preston is moving towards wholesale too...
